Using the Zoom integration
Last updated: 2026-05-17
This page is for tutors who want to use Zoom to run their lessons in Teachify. It walks through connecting your Zoom account, generating per-student meeting links, and removing the app when you no longer want the integration.
What the integration does
Once you connect your Zoom account to Teachify, the student page gets a "Generate -> Zoom" button. Clicking it asks Zoom to create a brand-new meeting in your Zoom account, and saves the join URL on that student's record. From then on, you and the invited student see the same one-click "Join Zoom" button on the student page - no copy-pasting, no shared personal meeting IDs.
Adding the app
1. Sign in to Teachify
You need a tutor account. Sign in (or sign up free) at the top right of the home page.
2. Open Settings - Integrations
Open the user menu in the sidebar and choose Settings. Click "Integrations" in the settings sidebar. You will see two cards: Google Meet and Zoom.
3. Click Connect on the Zoom card
The button takes you to Zoom's consent screen. You will see exactly two requested permissions: "View your user information" and "Create and manage meetings in your account". These map to the Zoom OAuth scopes user:read:user and meeting:write:meeting. Teachify does not request webinar, recording, contact, or chat access.
4. Approve in Zoom
Sign in to Zoom (if you are not already) and click Allow. Zoom redirects you back to Teachify, where you will see a "Connected" badge on the Zoom integration card.
You can also install Teachify directly from the Zoom Marketplace - the result is the same: when Zoom redirects you back, the integration is ready to use.
Using the integration
1. Open a student
From the Students list, click the student you want to start a lesson with.
2. Generate a meeting
On the student page (or the student edit page), click the "Generate" button next to the meeting URL field and pick Zoom. Teachify asks Zoom to create a new meeting in your account; within a second the URL appears in the field and is saved automatically.
3. Join the meeting
A "Join Zoom" button replaces the generate button. Click it to open Zoom in the usual way. If the student is invited to their own cabinet, they see the same button on their side - one click into the lesson, no shared link needed.
If you want a fresh meeting (for example, the previous one got hijacked or you simply want a clean slate), click Generate again. Teachify will ask for confirmation before overwriting the existing URL.
Removing the app
There are two equivalent paths. Use whichever is more convenient - both delete Teachify's stored Zoom tokens on our side.
From Teachify
Settings - Integrations - Disconnect on the Zoom card. Confirm in the dialog. New meetings can no longer be generated until you reconnect. Existing meeting links you already shared with students keep working on Zoom's side.
From Zoom Marketplace
In Zoom Marketplace, open Manage - Installed Apps, find Teachify, click Remove. Zoom notifies our deauthorization webhook, and we delete the stored tokens for your account. You will see the Zoom card as "Disconnected" the next time you open Settings - Integrations in Teachify.
Either path revokes our access to your Zoom account. We do not retain any token, meeting metadata, or other Zoom data after the removal. The meeting URLs we already saved on student records remain in your Teachify database - if you want them gone too, just clear the meeting URL on each affected student (or delete the student).
Troubleshooting
The Generate button is greyed out
You are not connected to Zoom yet. Open Settings - Integrations and click Connect on the Zoom card.
Generate fails with "Could not generate a meeting URL"
Most often the Zoom token has been revoked (you removed the app from Zoom's side, or the token expired and could not refresh). Disconnect and reconnect from Settings - Integrations. If the second attempt also fails, write to us at support@teachify.com.ua.
Old meeting links return "Meeting not found"
Free Zoom accounts have meeting retention limits, and meetings created some time ago may have been cleaned up by Zoom. Generate a new link from the student page.
